Hecl is a scripting language for Java. Its distinguishing features are its extremely small size (small enough to run on even basic J2ME cell phones) and extreme flexibility. It's also easy to learn and use. The Hecl programming language is a complement to Java rather than a replacement for it. It attempts to be simple and brief where Java is more complex and verbose. This makes it ideal for scripting applications aimed at the widest possible range of end users.
