Everyone in open source knows there's a lot happening in copyright these days -- but the news stories fly by so quickly that it can be hard to keep track of it all, or put it in context. This talk will give an overview of legal developments around the world, of the current state of DRM deployment, of the various initiatives of content distributors, and tie it all together to give a unified picture of what's happening. We'll end with a look at some of the groups that have formed to resist the global "soft lockdown" of content, and look at the various tactics they're using.
