Hack Your Manager

Peter Scott, Owner, Pacific Systems Design Technologies

Track: People
Date: Friday, July 27
Time: 10:45am - 11:30am
Location: D139-140

Is code really all that matters? Or do we as developers tend to favor our strengths and in the process, lose touch with the human side of our jobs? Whether we have managers or customers, communicating with people is essential for realizing our goals, and yet developers are often challenged in that department.

This sometimes whimsical session will look at how a chasm often forms between us and managers, and what we can do about it. We’ll see how we might be getting in our own way, and cover some methods for improving our communication and negotiation.
