Huge sets of data are generated every day by people using online applications, and much of this is made available via Open APIs. Many techniques for analyzing and interpreting these datasets exist in the fields of data-mining and machine learning, making it possible to draw new conclusions and build predictive models.
This talk will use this idea to explore some analyses of
- A K-Nearest Neighbors model for prices on eBay
- Decision Trees for home prices on Zillow
- Cluster analysis of the top bloggers
In each case, a description of how the data was gathered and an overview of how the algorithm works with some implementation details will be given.
