Users long since figured out that the Web doesn't always work, but Ajax applications feel a lot more like desktop applications. The connections between the application in a browser window and the server in the background aren't always perfect, and neither are the interactions between the user and the program.
Ajax offers new challenges for error handling and recovery, but also new opportunities. This talk will explore a variety of problems Ajax applications face, and best practices for dealing with them. Keeping the user (and potentially the developer) informed of problems that may cause them data or time loss is critical, but so are steps for minimizing that harm.
