Virtualization allows anyone to do more with less hardware by consolidating several services currently deployed on vastly underutilized physical servers on a smaller set of machines. As more and more businesses continue looking for ways to cut costs and reduce overhead, virtualization will play a major role in boosting utilization of existing and new hardware resources. However, this consolidation of resources can spell trouble if several Virtual Private Servers are lost due to a hardware failure that would have only affected one server without virtualization.
This session will demonstrate how to deploy a Xen virtualization environment with specific consideration of engineering practices that address and eliminate the possible failure points in a Xen cluster.
