The OLPC project is one of the hottest things in the open source community today. Becoming a part of this community is not nearly as hard as it may seem!
Sugar, the user environment for the OLPC project, uses all python and GTK+ for its applications. This makes it very easy for you to develop for it on any Linux machine, and even some others if you get creative.
Learn how a Sugar activity (the metaphor for an application) is built, how it is different than other applications you have built, and how to port your hot application to Sugar.
