BOF
Concurrency-Oriented Programming With Erlang
Track: BoFs (Birds of a Feather)
Date: Monday, July 23
Time: 6:30pm
- 7:30pm
Location: D135
Moderator: Patrick Logan
The open source Erlang platform has been taking off recently with several mature, scalable internet systems (ejabberd, yaws web server, etc.) as well as with people just kicking its tires given its simplicity, functionality, and ability to scale. Programming in Erlang is fun, and is right in line with the multicore future. Erlang is actively supported and a new book is about to be published from one of its primary developers.
This BoF will be aimed at those looking to get started with Erlang, those who are deep into developing with it, as well as those who are just curious about a simple, functional language that makes concurrent, distributed programming much easier than most languages.
