Mahara: Putting Thought into ePortfolios

Funded by the New Zealand Government's e-Learning Collaborative Development Fund, Mahara is an open source web based portfolio system enabling users to build their own personal learning and development environment.

It has a modular design, allowing third parties to develop custom artefact types, authentication methods and other plugins.

The talk will be a brief introduction to some of the background and goals of Mahara and a demo of the system. If the audience is interested & technical, it can also cover some of the plugin APIs.
