With the availability of the PlayStation 3 as a development platform, cell processors are now accessible at a relatively low cost. It has been demonstrated that a breadth-first search can run up to 22 times faster on a cell processor than on a single processor.
Have you worked with a PS3? Are you interested in doing so? Come talk about the hows and whys of this exciting new technology.
Possible topics include language choices, available tools for parallelization of existing code, configuration issues, etc.
I will have a PS3 running Yellow Dog Linux available for demonstration, if there is interest.
