James Greiner

Senior Vice President and General Manager, MapQuest, Inc.

Jim is the leading force behind MapQuest's vision of being the best resource to help people find places anytime, anywhere. With MapQuest since 1999, and prior to becoming Vice President and General Manager in 2005, Jim led MapQuest’s marketing/brand strategy and activities. Previous leadership roles at MapQuest include product management, business development, and advertising sales.

Before MapQuest, Jim led the U S WEST Internet Division's (now Qwest Communications) entry into the Web and applications hosting business lines. His responsibilities included new product development, life-cycle product management, marketing, and sales channel management.

Prior to his six years with U S WEST, Jim worked for several years in New York City for two business development consulting firms, managing Fortune 100 domestic and international corporate accounts in the US, Europe, and Japan, identifying and providing strategic opportunities such as licensing, joint ventures, and acquisitions.

Jim holds an MBA degree from University of Colorado, Boulder, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University.
