Paul McMahan began his career as a software engineer in 1996 at the University of Tennessee's Innovative Computing Laboratory. Working in the academic research community led him to become an avid user of the open source software now commonly referred to as LAMP. Paul joined IBM in 2000 to become more involved in the advancement and widespread adoption of open source software such as Linux and Apache HTTP. He became a code committer at the Apache Software Foundation in 2006 and currently devotes most of his time to participating in the Apache Geronimo, MyFaces, and Tomcat projects.
