John Ko presents a hybrid P2P and Client/Server system that supports synchronous and asynchronous collaboration using distributed and multi-resolution visualization technologies. The collaboration framework is based on the virtual whiteboard concept, with a few extensions: infinitely large, infinitely zoomable, scalable for data and network, and object-level security. Two usage cases will be presented, a general purpose virtual whiteboard for usage in portals like AOL and MSN, and an enterprise focused usage.
