Business Intelligence with Rails: “Done in 45 Minutes!”

We all face it, tons of data, and no easy way to graphically present, share, or protect the data.

Using Rails and Test-Driven Development Soren will demonstrate how he will start from scratch and build the business intelligence system within 45 minutes.

Specifically Soren will demonstrate the following concepts step by step:

1. How to define the business problem;
2. How to build the initial repository into Subversion;
3. How to begin building test cases;
4. How to define access to the User Data;
5. How to transform the data from legacy data to graphical and visual data;
6. How to create graphical displays of dynamic data that can be drilled down to show more detailed data, based upon user, and authorization level;
7. How to generate reports from the data to be downloaded to Excel, PDF, etc;
8. How to enable RESTful web services to enable sharing of data with external partners and customers.
