So Much Data… So Little Time!

Taking Control of Information to Make Better Publishing Decisions

There is no lack of data available to today’s publisher. Information and statistics on our industry abound… but is it making any difference in the quantity and quality of intellectual property being published today?

As we move into the digital world with new publishing paradigms… royalties, technology investment, shrinking margins… there is little room for error. Unfortunately though, many publishers—large and small -- are struggling with deciphering the many data sources streaming into their office on a daily basis.

This presentation will focus on providing a clear description of what currently exists with data, information, and research in the publishing industry using examples and case studies. Then, the presentation will shift to painting a picture for how individual publishers and the industry can move from information overload to making sense of and acting on data through an approach that calls for utilizing standard platforms and calling for a greater opening up of industry-wide data availability.
