Social software presents an interesting challenge to book publishers who traditionally have a relationship with booksellers but not a direct one with readers. Yet being connected to their readers can help publishers understand their market better, build stronger connections with the leading figures in their community, and be better set to cope with external competition.
This session will look at how social software can help book publishers, presenting case studies and making recommendations on which of the major social software tools--including blogs, wikis, social networking, and tagging--fit their content and readership.
