Session

Creating New Streams of Revenue for Copyrighted Materials

Caroline Vanderlip, CEO, SharedBook Inc.

Track: Products & Services
Date: Tuesday, June 19
Time: 2:00pm - 2:45pm
Location: Fairfield Room

As publishers look for innovative ways to expand their most profitable titles, increase their online presence, and engage their audiences more directly, today’s Web 2.0 technologies are ideally suited for generating additional streams of revenue from existing materials. Publishers can now offer readers the ability to personalize their favorite works in a variety of ways, or to select premium content that is personally-relevant. The opportunities to output this information in high-value printed book formats are unlimited.

This session will provide an overview of how to leverage the Internet as a publishing platform by utilizing annotation, collaboration, and book making technologies that exist today. Real-world examples will be provided, as well as an overview of the potential market opportunity for this whole new segment of publishing.
