Adam M. Smith

Adam M. Smith

Google, Inc.

Adam M. Smith is a Product Management Director at Google with product development responsibility for Google Book Search, Google Scholar, and Google News Archives. In developing these products, he works closely with publishers of all sizes as well as with 15 library partners including those at the University of Michigan, Oxford University, Stanford University, Harvard University and the New York Public Library.

Prior to Google, Adam was VP, New Media for Random House Inc., where he was responsible for digital strategy for their publishing divisions. He also participated in the Random House's venture capital and corporate development activities, and served on the board of Xlibris, a publishing services company.

Prior to joining Random House Inc., Adam was Director of Corporate Development for Bertelsmann, Inc. He has also worked in media and telecommunications investment banking for Lehman Brothers in New York and Hong Kong. Adam has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BS from the University of California at Berkeley.
