As dynamic web services have become commonplace in many higher-education environments, there is a great need for a robust and deployable LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Perl) solution. West examines and analyzes the deployment and performance of Ubuntu as a LAMP server.
Setup and Configuration: Is Ubuntus claim to have a 15-minute setup reality?
Usability and Standardizations: Standards help education and enterprise administrators stay sane while administering different types of server environments. Is Ubuntu Server easy to administer while complying with standard Linux/Unix paths, file structure, and commands?
Security and Performance: Can Ubuntu Server perform under high loads? Will Ubuntu Server leave any open doors for potential malicious access?
Join West for a presentation that will focus on issues that you need to know before deploying Ubuntu Server in your higher-education or enterprise environment.
