The rate of adoption of virtualization technology in the enterprise has increased in the past two years. Those who are not using this technology may be in the planning stages of evaluating virtualization. Ubuntu, like many other flavors of Linux, is quite capable of being a virtualization host.
This session will go over the different options available to install and run virtualization software on top of Ubuntu. We will go over tips for setting up solutions from vendors and independent projects such as VMWare, Xen, and QEMU, as well as see what traps can occur while installing these packages. Included will be a demo consisting of multiple operating systems running in an Ubuntu-hosted virtualization environment.
