Ubuntu thin-client solution is great for a lab installation. It's fully integrated at the distribution level and it's easy to setup and administer. It's well suited for a wide range of applications, like schools and small networks of workstations.
However, the current architecture have some drawbacks. Large organization often desires centralized infrastructure. The decentralized architecture proposed doesn't fulfill needs of those organizations.
This BOF is about issues that arise with large scale deployment of thin-client infrastructure, like configuration management and load-balancing sessions between available servers. The assumption that every users will be on the same server is not true anymore. Administrators and developers are welcome to discussion about ideas on how to address those issues.
