System Administrator, Asterlink, Inc.
Brian West is a fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants kinda guy with no formal training in the field. He learns and adapts quickly; has a strong opinion, and is not afraid to share it. West is a firm believer in open source and can see things beyond their face value and think outside the box. He became active in the Asterisk community back in 2003 and has since progressed into a well-known member of the open source telephony community.
West also has extensive experience in building and managing complex IP networks. He has directly or indirectly contributed to many open source projects including Asterisk, OpenPBX, and OpenH323/OPAL. He also planned and organized Cluecon in Chicago in August 2005 where members of the open source telephony community joined together in a way never before possible.
