Robert Effinger is looking for ways to bring online social networks to
your mobile. Robert works as a software engineer at Synthesis Studios
and is the lead developer of OneHop, Synthesis's experiment in breaking
online social networking free from the screen and out into the real
world where face-to-face matters. In his academic life, Robert is a
NASA funded Ph.D. candidate in the Artificial Intelligence Lab at MIT
where he studies robust, agile, and adaptive legged robot locomotion.
Robert's previous academic endeavors span search optimization, automated
planning and reasoning, computer vision, biologically-inspired robotics,
autonomous spacecraft rendezvous and docking, space-inflatables design,
and zero-gravity asteroid anchoring.
