Bernhard SeefeldGeo Software Engineer, Google ![]() Bernhard Seefeld is a Geo Software Engineer at Google. Bernhard has a long history in local search. In 1995 he co-founded search.ch, a Swiss search engine and one of the first sites that enhanced local search by connecting business entries with related web pages. The company was acquired by the Swiss Post in May, 2004. In the same year, map.search.ch, the world's first AJAX-based map was created in cooperation with Endoxon. Seefeld focused on web-centered mapping in his role as lead engineer at Endoxon, a company known for its aerial and satellite image processing techniques and its innovative geo-spatial applications. Endoxon was acquired by Google in December, 2006. Seefeld holds a Master of Science in theoretical physics from the University of Berne, Switzerland. |
