Rob McKinnon is a programmer passionate about utilizing the Web to catalyze positive change. He's a tech guy on the ground for O'Reilly UK. As a freelancer he creates domain driven Ruby on Rails solutions. Rob develops TheyWorkForYou.co.nz, a volunteer Rails site making it easy to track the activity of New Zealand's Parliament. Rob authored the Ruby Editor Plugin for jEdit in 2005, possibly the first editor tool with Ruby code completion. His Java financial system developer days are thankfully behind him. Rob's currently playing with meta-programming tricks for seeding Rails applications via screen-scraping and Web API mash-ups.
