
Richard's attention has consistently been focused on the crossroads of entertainment and technology. In his diverse entrepreneurial history, he has founded over seven firms or business units and negotiated a successful exit in almost every instance for his stakeholders. Richard turned expat in early 2006 when he began living and working in Eastern Europe including Sofia, Bulgaria and Bucharest, Romania. He has since settled in London, where he is the acting Head of User Experience & Design at the British Broadcasting Corporation, where he provides creative and thought leadership to the BBC's future media products and services across the different devices, services and platforms. Richard is also an active director and board member for a variety of digital start-ups in Europe and the US including video blogging firm Your Truman Show, based in Milan and San Francisco and London based video distribution site Artistlog.net
Richard is a featured expert on topics of new media, entertainment and technology; extensive media coverage and quoted in numerous recent articles including CNN, Forbes Small Business, The LA Business Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Wired Magazine, and Wall Street Journal. His notable keynotes include Time Warner Inc. annual Sr. management summit (twice 2005 & 2006) and the SPAA conference 2005. He is also a recurring moderator and panelist at Industry events including: CES, Digital Hollywood, MILIA, MIPTV, NAB, NATPE, and the Cannes & Sundance Film Festivals and at educational institutions such as: Cal Tech, NYU, UCLA Anderson & USC Marshall. When living in the USA, Richard was named a Digital Coast 50 top executives than three years running. Richard is happily married and enjoys sharing snowboarding, mountain biking, and a love for independent film with his wife and children.
