CEO, Joost
Mike Volpi is chief executive officer of Joost, the worlds first broadcast-quality Internet television service. In this capacity he sets corporate strategy and oversees the all business operations. Prior to joining Joost (www.joost.com), Mike spent thirteen years at Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO) in a variety of strategic management roles.
Most recently Mike managed an $11 billion business as senior vice president and general manager for Ciscos Routing and Service Provider Technology Group, which included Scientific Atlanta.
While at Cisco, Mike also pioneered the companys M&A process and acquired more than 70 companies during his tenure.
Prior to running the Routing and Service Provider Technology Group, he was senior vice president of the Internet Switching and Services Group where he was responsible for developing switching products for data centers and distribution applications, as well as creating a services infrastructure for security and content networking.
While at Cisco, Mike was Ciscos chief strategy officer, where he was responsible for corporate strategy as well as business development, strategic alliances, advanced Internet projects, legal services, and government affairs. Mike directed Cisco's expansion into new markets and technologies through a balance of internal development, partnerships, and acquisitions.
Before joining Cisco, Mike was at Hewlett Packard's optoelectronics division, serving as a product development engineer and product marketing manager.
Mike serves on the boards of Equinix, Inc. and Opsware, Inc. He holds a BS and a MS in mechanical engineering, and a MBA, all from Stanford University.
