Thomas Vander Wal will provide an overview of tagging services and highlight the value in tagging, providing insights on when to use tagging, who tags, a tagcloud's value when used properly, various interactive interfaces, and how to create value from tagging to improve the sites and services we build. Other topics covered:
- how to make the decision as to whether to include tagging services or use external services
- different interfaces and interaction elements that can accompany tagging in various services
- what works well for regular people (the 95% of the people who do not build, design, or live their life on the Web)
Lastly, Vander Wal will provide an insightful look at how one web-based business uses tagging.
