Bill Maimone
Chief Architect and SVP of Worldwide Engineering, Ingres Corporation
Mr. Maimone serves as chief architect of Ingres Corporation, where he works with Ingres's Chief Technology Officer Dave Dargo and Senior Vice President of Engineering Emma McGrattan in defining, architecting and delivering the next generation of open source database solutions. Specifically, he leads the development of Ingres's next generation of business open source solutions.
Maimone brings 20 years of Oracle database architecture management to Ingres. Most recently, Maimone served as a vice president in Oracle's Server Technologies division with responsibility for its collaboration software, including content services and records management.
For more than 10 years, he led Oracle's innovation in data security, including pioneering technology developments and advances within the U.S. and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) security bodies. Furthermore, Maimone's scalability work on both releases of Oracle7 and Oracle8 database releases included real-world, record database scalability achievements.
While at Oracle, Mr. Maimone also managed worldwide, cross-functional groups of developers working on identity management, SQL language and runtime services, directory services, globalization, query optimization and data dictionary.
Mr. Maimone started his career at Oracle in 1986. He holds a M.S. and B.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Science Journalism from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
