In our digital lives, we often fail to see how much information is actually anchored in the physical world.

MetaCarta helps people find everything written about any place. MetaCarta software analyzes documents, like web pages, to assess the geographic meaning implicit in the author's message. This automatic geoparsing technology plots documents on maps, which transforms the workflow in geographically focused activities like petroleum exploration and intelligence analysis.

As the Web turns geographic with locally focused content and search, MetaCarta is turning its technology to new uses, which Frank will discuss.
