David McIlhagga is the president of DM Solutions Group Inc., a company which in addition to leading, he also founded in 1998. McIlhagga has positioned DM Solutions Group as the leading provider of smart online mapping solutions based on open source spatial technologies. McIlhagga graduated from Carleton University with an Honors Bachelor's degree in Geography, concentrating in Geographic Information Processing.

As the president of DM Solutions Group, McIlhagga's roles include strategic planning for the company, and fostering alliances and key partnerships. He shares his experience and accumulated knowledge within the community through numerous presentations and discussions at industry events and memberships within the Geomatics Industry Association of Canada (GIAC) and the Open GeoSpatial Consortium (OGC).

Prior to founding DM Solutions Group, McIlhagga worked as a senior applications specialist at TYDAC Research, where he focused on web-based GIS technologies. Currently his focus is on providing leadership and innovative custom mapping solutions for DM Solutions Group's growing client base using MapTools open source technologies.
