There is not enough local content to serve the demand. When Topix launched, the U.S.-based local sections (only 10% of the site) received 51% of the traffic. They now service 19,668 towns with their forums that in aggregate generate 50% of their local content. Topix is going to share the ins and outs of geolocating this information, how they aggregate it, and what the differences in regions are.
