BOF

Mashups OGC Style

Date: Tuesday, May 29
Time: 7:30pm - 8:30pm
Location: Terrace Room

Moderated by Raj Singh, Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC)

This BoF brings together developers familiar with OGC services such as Web Mapping (WMS) and Web Feature (WFS) services, as well as OGC-friendly services such as GeoRSS and WFS Simple.

The purpose of this meeting is twofold. One is to discuss the ability of OGC technologies to play well within the "Where 2.0 ecosystem." A number of companies are engaging in a "loosely coupled demo" for Where 2.0, sharing data and services infrastructure. At this BoF we plan to share our experiences with each other.

The second is to discuss the evolution of GeoRSS, including a request API, and additions to, or alternative profiles of, the supported functionality. The request API proposed is WFS Simple for GeoRSS, which is available at under Atom/GeoRSS example. Enhancements to GeoRSS suggested on the mailing list are concerned with fine-grained time support and multiple geometries.
