General Manager, Live Search, Microsoft Corp.
Erik Jorgensen is a general manager with the Online Services Group. He leads the groups responsible for local search, mobile search, and mapping, with the mission to provide global access to local knowledge. Products include Live Search Maps, Live Search Mobile, Streets & Trips, MapPoint and the Virtual Earth platform.
He has held various positions during the 12+ years hes worked at Microsoft Corp. Before joining Live Search, he ran the MSN portal businesses, including MSNBC, MoneyCentral, Carpoint®, Slate, Travel, Sports, and HomeAdvisor®. Before that, he spent six years in Microsofts Financial Products Group, overseeing the product development, operations and marketing of Microsoft Money, MoneyCentral and financial enterprise services. In 2001, Institutional Investor named Jorgensen one of the five most influential people in the online financial services industry. He started at Microsoft in the Multimedia Games group.
Before joining Microsoft, Jorgensen worked in brand management at Procter & Gamble Co. and the Dial Corp. He has a bachelors degree from Stanford University. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, boating, and spending time with his wife and two children.
