Interaction Designer, Stamen Design
Tom Carden writes web-based information visualisation and mapping software for Stamen Design in San Francisco. His recent work has included real-time maps of 911 calls in Indiana and contributions to the open source Flash library Modest Maps. Before that, he wrote passenger flow simulation software for YRM architects in London and studied virtual environments and visualisation at University College London.
Tom is actively involved in the community surrounding the Processing development environment and was an early participant in OpenStreetMap, a project to create free maps of the world using GPS and aerial photography. His personal weblog Random Etc. has been a place for thoughts, sketches, interactive maps and visualisations since 2003.
