Conference Presentations Available -- Many of the OSCON presentation files are available to download from the conference web site. O'Reilly and MySQL AB are teaming up to present the MySQL Users Conference next spring. "MySQL is at the heart of revolutionary changes in the computer industry," says Tim O'Reilly. "By joining forces with MySQL AB, we can grow the success of the MySQL Users Conference, creating maximum value for users, developers, and everyone in the software ecosystem." The Conference happens April 18-21, 2005 in Santa Clara, CA. Sign up for our mailing list. Take the PHP Certification exam at OSCON -- Zend, the world recognized authority in PHP, is pleased to announce the Zend
PHP Certification exam. The exam is designed to offer PHP developers the
only industry-accepted credential that recognizes knowledge and proficiency
with PHP. The exam evaluates the skill set and knowledge essential to best
PHP programming practices as established by the Zend Education Advisory
Board. The Zend Mobile Testing Center will be on-location at OSCON. Reserve a spot and receive a special OSCON $50 discount off of exam fees. The OSCON Exhibit Hall is sold out. If you can't attend the entire convention, but want to attend a few sessions and see the exhibit hall, day passes are still available. Sessions in iCalendar Format -- If you have iCal or other applications that use .ics files, you'll be happy to know that the O'Reilly Open Source Convention sessions are now available in the iCalendar format. Here's all the info you need to subscribe. Join IBM developerWorks for a complimentary Technical Briefing on Linux at OSCON on July 29. The briefing will run from 2:35-3:20 pm, and 4:30-6:05 pm in the Willamette Room at the Portland Marriott Downtown. Space is limited and reservations are required. The first 30 attendees at each of these sessions will receive a T-shirt and all attendees will receive DVDs with trial software from IBM. One attendee from each briefing will be selected at random to receive a 12-month online developerWorks Subscription at the Starter Level, which includes access to IBM tools and middleware from our Downloads page. RSVP for this briefing at tbrief@us.ibm.com. Lightning Talks -- We're now accepting proposals for 5-minute Lightning Talks that focus on a single example, idea, project, or technique. If you have a great idea for a lightning talk, please submit a proposal. All of the Volunteer Opportunities Are Filled -- Thank you for your interest in volunteer opportunities at OSCON. At this time, we're not taking any additional requests for volunteering at the convention. Have you ever wondered who helps shape the OSCON program? Take a look at our list of OSCON committee members who volunteered their time to make the best convention possible for you. Coming to OSCON on a Budget? Save money on your housing costs by sharing a room while you're in Portland. We have a room-share list to facilitate finding a suitable roommate. Please visit the OSCON 2004 Wiki to submit your information. Don't Miss the 6th O'Reilly Open Source Convention -- Hear from convention chair Nathan Torkington and O'Reilly & Associates president Tim O'Reilly on the latest trends, issues, speakers, and events planned for OSCON 2004.
