Convention Updates

This page lists changes and updates to the convention schedule.

  • Correction to the direct mail brochure convention fee. The Open Source Convention direct mail brochure incorrectly lists the convention fee at $1095 for early bird registrants (by June 22) and $1295 thereafter.

The correct convention fee is $895 during early bird registration and $1095 thereafter. We apologize for any problems this misprint caused. For more information, please see our registration page.

  • Microsoft Senior VP and Shared Source spokesperson Craig Mundie will deliver the Thursday keynote at the Open Source Convention. Mundie will discuss Microsoft's controversial Shared Source Philosophy. A panel discussion with Red Hat CTO Michael Tiemann, Tim O'Reilly, and others will follow Mundie's talk.

  • Leon Brocard and Damian Conway have teamed up to combine their two talks into one: Instant Compilers--Just Add Perl. They will talk about using Perl to compile other languages' source code.

  • The "Postscript and Perl" tutorial by Johan Vromans has been cancelled.

  • Graham Barr is replacing Lincoln Stein for the tutorial Network Programming with Perl.
