Summary
Komodo is ActiveState's Mozilla-based cross-platform integrated development
environment targeted squarely at scripting languages such as Perl, Python
and JavaScript. Its features include online help (giving programmers quick
access to definitions, discussions, and examples), an interactive debugger
(allowing programmers to see the program, even if it is running on a remote
server, to facilitate remote debugging), and a full-featured, language-aware
editor. Innovative features in this IDE include a regular
expression debugger, remote file access and configuration, and
multi-language
scriptability of the IDE itself.
We will present our current version of Komodo, talk about the
features we plan on adding before release, and solicit feedback from the
audience as well
as entertain questions. One of the topics we'll no doubt discuss is the
nature of Mozilla, and why the Open Source community needs to pay close
attention to it not just as a browser but as an application toolkit.
