O'Reilly Conference on Enterprise Java
Westin Hotel -- Santa Clara, California
March 26-29, 2001

Java
Accessing OLAP Resources from Java
Speaker: James Farley
Track: Leading Edge
Date: 03/28/2001
Time: 4:15pm - 5:00pm

OnLine Alaytic Processing (OLAP) data sets are distinct from traditional relational databases, in that they are typically multi-dimensional data cubes, rather than two-dimensional data tables. Multi-dimensional OLAP data sources offer the potential for efficient data mining and support for much more complex queries than a traditional RDBMS. In this session, we'll examine various approaches to accessing OLAP systems from Java, including navigation approaches and representations for multi-dimensional datasets.
