A look into the upcoming standard for distributed voice based application development, VoiceXML. The session includes a detailed technical introduction to the standard, its relevance to the mobile/wireless arena. The session illustrates how interactive and distributed applications can be built around VoiceXML using a number of demonstrations. The session also highlights how VoiceXML fits in and compares with the other initiatives/standards in the mobile world particularly WAP/WML. The attendees will be shown previously created VoiceXML based demos using a regular phone.
