Industry Web Services: WSDL and UDDI
Speaker: Tyler Jewell
Track: Java/XML
Date: 03/29/2001
Time: 4:15pm - 5:00pm
As communications protocols and message formats are standardized in the web
and B2B community, it becomes increasingly important to be able to allow
businesses to be able to locate services available for use and to be able to
describe the communications of the services in some structured way. UDDI
and WSDL, two relatively new specifications in the web services arena, are
designed to faciliate businesses locating and using B2B services in a
standard, portable mechanism. UDDI and WSDL are going to be critical in the
evolution of web services and the role they play along with SOAP, ebXML and
other specifications will be increasingly visible in the very near future.
This presentation presents a detailed overview of UDDI and WSDL, their
specifications, and their intended use. This presentation presents a
summary of available tools for working with these technologies and a summary
of how an implementation might look. This seminar is targeted towards any
individual that participates in development or design of a B2B service
including architects, developers, project managers, and corporate
executives.
