Mitchell Baker has been the general manager of the Mozilla project (officially known as its chief lizard wrangler) since 1999. The Mozilla project strives to create great software and maintain choice and innovation in key Internet applications, such as its flagship Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird products. It is one of the largest open source software development projects in existence. The Mozilla project combines dedicated volunteers, a set of paid contributors and some degree of engineering management. Baker focuses on making all these pieces work together. With the formation of the Mozilla Foundation in 2003, Baker also took on the role of president of the Mozilla Foundation.
