David G. Stork
David G. Stork is Chief Scientist of Ricoh Silicon Valley, Consulting Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University and founder of the Open Mind Intiative. A graduate of MIT and the University of Maryland, he has been on the faculties of Wellesley College, Swarthmore College, Clark University, Boston University and Stanford University. A distinguished lecturer of the ACM, Dr. Stork holds over a dozen patents, has published five books (including "HAL's Legacy: 2001's computer as dream and reality" for popular audiences), sits on the editorial boards of five journals, and has published numerous peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. His deepest interests are in pattern recognition, machine learning, intelligent systems and novel uses of the internet.
