Simon Shapiro,
born 1950, served as principal staff member at Oracle, with
emphasis on massively parallel computing, at Intel with emphasis on distributed
I/O subsystems, at Atlas Telecom as architect of a massively distributed
database engine, and at MindSpring Enterprises (no Earthlink) as a research
fellow and architect of a distributed, scalable data server.
