Kid's World 2001

Let's Have Some Fun!
The theme for this year's Kid's World event is "Camping Out with KiddieCorp."

Camping out with KiddieCorp is lots of fun. We'll break out the camping chairs, sing silly songs and tell funny (not too scary) ghost stories by the pretend campfire. The kids will try their hand at bead kits, making lanyard key chains, cootie catchers, and friendship bracelets. We'll learn about animals that live in the woods and learn how to identify their tracks. We'll learn how to make animal shadows with our flashlights and go on a flashlight trail walk (without ever leaving our room). It's going to be an exciting adventure and fun for all ages.

Character Visits
Bear in the Big Blue House is returning again this year to visit with the children. You don't want to miss the Bear's visits. Times of the Bear's visits will be announced on-site.

Kid's World is limited to accommodating a maximum of sixty (60) children at any time. You must register your children either in advance on the KiddieCorp website, or you can register your children on-site. Registrations are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is a $50 registration fee per child which will allow your child to participate in the Kid's World activities for the entire program (Monday - Thursday).

This registration fee assists us in providing quality child care, as well as nutritional snacks and beverages for your children.

Snack Time -- Healthy & Safe
O'Reilly & Associates, in assistance with Whole Foods Markets, will provide the Kid's World program with nutritional snacks and beverages for your children's enjoyment. We make the same purchasing decisions for your children as we do for our own families...we purchase only organic and GMO free food products for Kid's World.

We also recognize that many children have allergies to food products that are made with peanuts, peanut oils and/or various other nuts. Kid's World will be peanut-free. The snacks and beverages provided at Kid's World will not contain any peanut or nut products.

We also ask that if your child has any other food related or general allergy to clearly and directly inform KiddieCorp of this before arriving on-site. Please also be considerate of others and do not send your child to the Kid's World program with peanuts (or products made with peanuts) in-hand.

KiddieCorp will be closed during lunch time.

Check out Whole Food's Cool Stuff for Kids online website. There you and your children will find fun trivia, online games & mazes, and safe and informative links to other websites such as the Monterey Bay Aquarium and USDA Kids'.

Safety First...
is the KiddieCorp policy.

  • A strict photo registration process at check-in and check-out will be implemented for the safety of all children and parents.

  • The KiddieCorp team members always escort children and parents when entering or leaving Kid's World area and no unauthorized adults are allowed in into the area.

  • All KiddieCorp managers are CPR/First Aid certified.

  • Parents will be provided a Safety Information Card detailing the program hours, program room and phone numbers, local hospital information and a safe meeting place in case of hotel evacuation.

  • If you would like to rent a pager while at the Open Source Convention specifically for the use of being in contact with KiddieCorp in the event that they need to reach you immediately, you can rent a pager for $20 from KiddieCorp. This rental fee will supply the pager for all four days (Monday - Thursday) of the Kid's World program.
