Help Generate Interest
If you agree to become a speaker at our event, you will be asked to help us generate interest in the convention. We ask that you help promote your talk at the convention (where appropriate) on web sites and in email notices and snail mail.
There are several things you can do to promote your talk at this year's convention (further details will be provided after you accept):
Place the Speaker graphic on your web site, and distribute to other appropriate sites.
Look at your presentation and find one aspect of it that would make a nice standalone article of about 800 words. We are going to publish as many of those pieces as possible to promote specific talks and the convention in general.
If appropriate for your web pages, we encourage you to discuss your participation at the convention through a weblog or other web posting.
We suggest letting your friends and colleagues know you'll be speaking at the convention and telling them why they should attend your session/tutorial and why they should attend the convention.
If you have any questions about being a speaker at an O'Reilly convention, please email Vee McMillen.
If your company or organization would like to sponsor the O'Reilly Open Source Convention, please contact Andrew Calvo, conference sales manager, at (707) 827-7176 or
