SCO Moot Court

7:30 - 9:00 PM
Located in the Oregon Ballroom

Organized by UC Berkeley law professor Pam Samuelson and Groklaw founder Pamela Jones, this entertaining event will thoroughly air the legal issues surrounding the SCO Linux case. Moot Court participants will be prepared to argue the merits of the case in a mock trial before a neutral judge.

Tuesday Evening Extravaganza

Located in the Oregon Ballroom

Larry Wall returns with his famous State of the Onion talk, a philosophical walk through the world of programming that only incidentally touches on the latest in Perl. Larry is followed this year by Paul Graham, author of Hackers & Painters and a talk by Damian Conway titled "Life, Universe, and Everything." Several Open Source awards are announced throughout the evening as well.

Zend, the world recognized authority in PHP is pleased to announce the Zend PHP Certification exam. The exam is designed to offer PHP developers the only industry accepted credential that recognizes knowledge and proficiency with PHP. The exam evaluates the skill set and knowledge essential to best PHP programming practices as established by the Zend Education Advisory Board. Free Linux Certification Exams

LPI Wednesday, July 28 at 11:00 am & 3:00 pm
Located in the Meadowlark room (3rd floor).

Linux Professional Institute (LPI) is a non-profit organization sponsored by the Linux Community that offers vendor independent skills certification for Linux System Administrators. In cooperation with O’Reilly, LPI exams 101 and 201 will be offered free of charge at OSCON. Email if you are interested in taking one of the exams.

Come to a private advanced screening of "Primer," a movie about two engineers who, in their off hours, accidentally develop a time machine and the consequences that ensue. "Variety" describes the film as "an intellectual thriller" and the "surprise winner" of the Grand Jury Award and Alfred P. Sloan Award at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
