Help Generate Interest

To make this year's conference a success, we are hoping you will help promote your talk at the conference (where appropriate) on web sites and in email notices and snail mail.

Here are several things you can do to promote your talk at this year's conference:

  • Place a Speaker graphic on your web site, and distribute to other appropriate sites. Our web stats tell us that links from speaker sites are one of the top ways people find the conference web site. The graphic should link to http://conferences.oreilly.com/oscon/.

Also, feel free to use these other convention graphics.

  • Please look at your presentation and find an aspect of it that would make a nice standalone article of about 800 words. We publish as many of those pieces as possible to promote specific talks and the conference in general. Contact Shane Warden, Technical Editor, for details. His email is The earlier you submit your article, the greater the odds of its publication.

  • We can ship conference brochures to your snail mail list, at no cost to you. If you are interested in this program, please forward your list to Margi Levin, Conference Marketing Manager. Her email address is

  • We send out a regular Conference Newsletter to our opt-in Conference email list. If you would like your opt-in list to be included, send it to This list will receive regular news and information about the conference.

  • If appropriate for your web pages, we encourage you to discuss your participation at the conference through a weblog or other web posting.

  • We suggest letting your friends and colleagues know you'll be speaking at the conference and telling them why they should attend your session/tutorial and why they should attend the conference.
